Since January 2016 15 Lightyears has been certifying and testing John Cannon homes in the beautiful green community of Lakewood Ranch, located along Florida’s west coast. As is required by the community, every John Cannon home is built to meets Florida Green Building Coalition standards, with certifications ranging from Bronze to Silver and the average HERS score coming in around 60. 

Green features in these homes include energy star appliances, energy efficient lighting, and low water fixtures, and insulated hot water pipes. Outside the homes, one will find drought tolerant plants and turf, and low flow irrigation that utilizes reclaimed water.  Every John Cannon Homes also goes through a number of energy assessments including blower door testing, thermal inspections, HERS testing, and smoke testing.
